Day 10
We made it to breakfast early today and it was even busier than usual.
Luckily no light-fingered staff had it away with Joss’ breakfast today.
We packed up and were on the coach by 10:45 - 15 minutes early.
What we had ahead of us was about a 5 hour drive to Kandy and The Golden Crown hotel.
On the bus we had to have our passports photographed and sent to the hotel for security reasons as apparently the England team are staying there - it must be quite good then.
We stopped off at this cafe and I thought I had seen the first nod to mobility aid when I saw a ramp up alongside the stairs.
Pity the ramp didn’t actually go anywhere….
The road was long and windy through the mountains and some of our overtaking was definitely questionable.
But we made it there safely and on first glance it looked nice.
When we got to the room we updated that opinion to VERY nice - we even had a balcony with a great view.
We had a little rest the went to the hotel bar and the views were amazing.
On the group chat people were saying they couldn’t get a tuk tuk but they clearly don’t know about uber so we kept quiet to make sure we got ours.
Which we did and we went to a bar called the Hideout Lounge.
It was over 2 floors and there was a live band and a disco on the first floor but was too busy for us so we had food downstairs first.
I had a black pork curry - bloody delicious.
Once finished we found a table upstairs and enjoyed the band.
We talked to a couple of guys and watched 2 more trying to chat 3 girls up - I felt like David Attenborough watching a courtship ritual.
We tuk’d back to the hotel and as we have an early start, it’s off for some kip in the largest bed known to man.
