Day 7

Unsurprisingly, after not trying to get to sleep until 3:30, I slept through to 10:30 - oops.

Breakfast is for wimps.

Instead we did a little retail therapy at yet another mall.

As it was pretty much lunchtime we went downstairs to the food hall and we ordered what we thought were small pizzas.

Wrong.

We’ve got to stop equating food size to cost here.

Then we did some shopping but I realise that Sri Lanka has never seen a man as fat as me so I came away empty handed.

Over lunch we were talking about the tour of Colombo in the afternoon and that fact that we had already done it with the tuk tuk guy so we binned it off for an afternoon of doing absolutely bigger all.

Bliss - a proper relaxing day to psyche ourselves up for the day long tour tomorrow which starts at 8am so no chance of any drinking mischief today.

We got ready for dinner reservations and had 90 minutes spare so we went up to the roof of the hotel for a drink.

They were doing this.

And this.

And this.

So yeah we changed to reservation to tomorrow ( I bravely crossed 4 lanes of mad traffic to do it) and we watched the palace v Chelsea game with prime seats.

The food was lovely, the beer tower drew many an appreciative look and comment and the football was entertaining but we have an early start tomorrow so we made the sensible choice of calling it a night.

Not sensible enough for me to not watch the Arsenal game back at the room but you know, small steps…
